No two production runs are identical. After firing, tiles are sorted by their actual size, the calibre, and by their colour, the shade or tone. Both are printed on the box.
Tiles of different calibres do not line up, and tiles of different shades show as patches. For one continuous surface, every box should carry the same calibre and the same shade, and spare tiles should be bought with the original order.
