After installation

Cement residue left by grouting is removed with a diluted acidic cleaner made for the purpose, once the grout has cured. Acid is never used on marble, limestone or other acid-sensitive materials laid nearby. Epoxy grout residue needs its own cleaner.

Routine care

Glazed and porcelain tiles need only water and a neutral detergent. Waxes, oily soaps and polishes leave a film that holds dirt and should be avoided. Polished surfaces benefit from entrance mats, since grit is what dulls a gloss.
